It’s one of the most satisfying, rewarding experiences that you’ll have.
— Sandy Serafin, Luzerne County CASA volunteer since 2013

If you have the heart, strength and compassion to lift a child's voice, we need you.

These children need an adult who can offer them their undivided attention, and they need this right now.

To date, there are more than 500 children in foster care in Luzerne County. Our advocates are speaking up for just over 10% of those children. That means approximately 441 children are patiently waiting for a volunteer to take an interest in their life; to show up; to speak up; to help them find the solid ground they need to thrive.

The first step is simple: learn more.

Register below to attend one of our upcoming information sessions. You'll learn more about our mission. You'll have the opportunity hear more about what advocacy looks like and how it can fit in with your schedule. And you'll meet some of our staff and advocates so that you can have all of your questions answered before deciding if becoming a CASA is the right thing for you to do. You can visit our FAQ page now, or take the first step and register for an information session below.

There are so many (other) ways that you can help, too.

As a nonprofit 501(c)3 child advocacy organization, we rely on our community for funding and support. In addition to recruiting, training and supporting the volunteers who are willing to become a CASA, we also have an ongoing need for volunteers to assist us with fundraising, outreach programs, special events and office tasks.

You can help us immensely by:

  • becoming a financial donor

  • offering pro-bono services or resources

  • helping us at local events

  • inviting us to speak to your civic/social organization or church to recruit CASAs

  • encouraging elected officials and policy makers to enact laws that support children
