Giving Tuesday

giving tuesday.jpg

#GivingTuesday, held this year on Nov. 27, is an international day of giving where you can play an active role in ensuring your community is the best it can be.

This year for #GivingTuesday, our goal is to raise $5,000 so that each child in our program can receive the proper and necessary clothes to make it through these cold Northeast PA winters.

When a child is removed from their home because of abuse and neglect, they often don’t have access to the things they need. This is where you can help. The money raised on Tuesday, November 27, will go directly to our advocates who will purchase the items their CASA kids so desperately need.

AllOne Charities is generously coordinating the donations for this campaign.

To donate online please click here.

If you would prefer to mail a check, please make it out to AllOne Charities and put CASA of Luzerne County in the memo line. Checks can be mailed to 70 North Main Street, Wilkes Barre, PA 18711.

You may also make your donation over the phone on Nov. 27 by calling AllOne at (570) 208-1200 during normal business hours.

Your support of CASA of Luzerne County is changing the lives of local children in a very real way. Please help us help those who need it the most.

SEL CONFERENCE

SET CONFERENCE

Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions (www.CASEL.org). Several hundred well-designed studies have documented that well-planned and well-implemented SEL programming can positively affect a broad range of student social, health, behavioral and academic outcomes.

This conference is designed to provide quality professional development opportunities for school administrators, school psychologists, school counselors, social workers, youth development workers, early childhood professionals, student support specialists, staff who serve on SAP teams, alternative education teachers, homeless liaisons, foster care points of contact and other professionals who work on behalf of children and youth.
