Meet the contestants: Talia Brogna

“Helping kids is a vital part of my identity,” said 21-year-old Talia.

A neuroscience major at King’s College with hopes to become a pediatrician, Talia is a cheerleading coach, and a proud big sister who discovered her passion for singing in elementary school.

“That’s when I realized that I loved to sing and that, maybe, I wasn’t too bad at it,” she said.

Since then Talia has been able to combine her love of music with her love of kids.

“It would be an honor to win the competition and be recognized locally for a talent that is so important to me,” she said.

Meet the contestants: James Mitchell, Jr.

Nineteen-year-old James, who is competing in NEPA Sings along with his sister Jasmine, got his start in music much the same way she did – singing with their family from an early age.

James describes himself as “very creative” and is currently attending Luzerne Community College and is hoping to touch people’s lives with his participation in the competition.

“I am a people person and I feel everyone deserves the chance to do something inspirational,” he said. “Hopefully I can inspire someone through my music.”
