You’re Invited!
CASA of Wyoming Valley is proud to host a free community screening of Brave the Dark, a moving and heartfelt film based on a true story of resilience and hope. The film follows Mr. Deen, a dedicated teacher who discovers that one of his students, Nate, has been living out of his car and has landed in jail. What begins as a simple act of kindness—bailing Nate out—quickly becomes a life-changing journey as Mr. Deen fights to help Nate confront his traumatic past and overcome his inner demons.
Following the screening, attendees are invited to stay for a brief panel discussion featuring the filmmaker, CASA staff, and child advocates, offering insight into the film’s themes and the real-world impact of advocacy for children who have experienced trauma.
This event is free and open to the public, but space is limited. RSVP is required by contacting Angelina Pacheco, Development and Communications Manager at CASA of Wyoming Valley, at apacheco@luzernecasa.org or by filling out the form below.
