Savor the Journey: Lighting the Pathway Forward

Every child deserves someone whose only job is to stand up for them.

Imagine a courtroom where life-changing decisions are being made for a child who has experienced abuse or neglect. Decisions about where they will live, whether they will remain with their siblings, and what their future will look like. Too often, that child has no one solely dedicated to ensuring their voice is heard.

That's where a CASA volunteer advocate makes all the difference.

Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteers are trained community members who get to know a child's unique story, advocate for their best interests, and provide judges with the information needed to make informed decisions. For children in Luzerne and Wyoming Counties, a CASA advocate can mean the difference between being overlooked and being seen.

Join CASA of Wyoming Valley on Thursday, October 1, at 5:30 PM at The Banks in Pittston for our signature fundraising gala, Savor the Journey: Lighting the Pathway Forward.

The evening will feature a unique culinary experience with chef-curated tasting stations inspired by regional flavors, along with inspiring stories, entertainment, and opportunities to make a lasting impact on the lives of local children.

More than a celebration, this gala is CASA of Wyoming Valley's premier fundraising event. Proceeds directly support the recruitment, training, and ongoing support of volunteer advocates who ensure abused and neglected children have a voice in court and a caring adult by their side throughout their journey.

Whether you attend as a guest, become a sponsor, or make a donation, your support helps provide hope, stability, and advocacy for children who need it most.

Together, we can light the pathway forward—one child, one advocate, one brighter future at a time.

CASA in the Community: Touch-a-Truck & Health Fair

  • The Sidney and Pauline Friedman Jewish Community Center (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Get ready for an action-packed day of FUN and DISCOVERY at the 3rd Annual CASA in the Community – Touch-a-Truck & Health Fair, hosted by CASA of Wyoming Valley! This exciting event invites kids of all ages to explore their favorite big trucks and specialty vehicles, including fire trucks, construction rigs, military vehicles, and emergency service vehicles. It’s a hands-on, engine-revving, horn-honking experience where children can climb aboard, interact with, and learn about these amazing vehicles.

In addition to the trucks, the event brings together local healthcare providers, non-profit organizations, and community groups, offering valuable resources to support family health, wellness, and child services. This is the perfect opportunity for families to connect with local organizations that make a difference.

This year, CASA of Wyoming Valley is introducing even more excitement! In addition to the vehicles, this year’s Health Fair will feature local healthcare providers, children’s service organizations, and nonprofit agencies sharing helpful resources and information about programs and services available to families throughout our community.

Admission is free for families. We hope you’ll join us for a day full of fun, discovery, and community spirit!
