Meet the contestants: Jasmine Anne Mitchell

Jasmine, 21, has been singing for almost all of her life. Starting at the age of two, Jasmine joined her family singing in churches in and around the Wyoming Valley.

As a preschool teacher, Jasmine understands the importance of children feeling heard.

“I love the fact that I get to give a child a voice,” Jasmine said about being part of an event that benefits CASA of Luzerne County. “I love children so I feel blessed to be able to bless a child and give them that voice.”

Though Jasmine wants to win NEPA Sings, she’s also just happy to be along for the ride.

“Honestly, it would mean the world to me (to win), but I want to enjoy myself and have fun,” she said.
