Meet the contestants: Richard C. Kraus

For Richard, 18, his love of music was realized while pursuing his love of acting. While looking for ways to perform, he discovered musicals and “fell in love with it.”

To be able to use his talents as a performer to help kids in need is “amazing,” he said.

“Being part of an event that gives so many kids a voice means the world to me,” he said. “I know what it’s like to not have a voice in small-scale, petty, overall stupid and important things, and I can’t even imagine what it’s like to be silenced in a much more serious, life-changing scenario. It feels amazing to play even a small role in ensuring these kids find a safe home.”
